Ouida was the pen name of Marie Louise de la Ramée (1839–1908), an English novelist known for her passionate, romantic stories. She wrote over 40 novels, children’s stories, and articles. Her most famous work is A Dog of Flanders (1872), the heartbreaking story of a boy and his dog that has been adapted into numerous films and television series.
